All of the technical specifications for printing with FishDirectMail


Programs and File Formats Accepted by FishDirectMail.com:

  • PDF (PREFERRED–Prepress quality, embedded fonts, bleed included)
  • EPS (with fonts converted to outlines/curves/paths)
  • TIFF (at least 300 dpi)
  • JPG (at least 300 dpi)
  • BMP (1200 dpi)
  • INDD (Adober InDesign) or QXD (QuarkXPress–include all fonts and links)
  • PSD (Adobe Photoshop–at least 300dpi)
  • AI (Adober Illustrator–with fonts converted to outlines

Bleeds
For art that bleeds (color goes to the edges), add an extra 1/8" to each side that bleeds. For example, a standard card (6" × 4¼") that bleeds on each side, make your canvas size 6¼" × 4½" (1/8" bleed × 2 sides). Remember: this extra 1/8" will be trimmed off. Place type or critical art no closer than ¼" from the bleed edge (or 1/8" from the trim edge).

Color Mode
All color artwork and/or images must be provided in CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) color mode. All black and white artwork and images must be provided in grayscale color mode.

FishDirectMail.com accepts the following file formats:

Fixed Length Files (please provide layout)

Please format your mailing list so each record has its own row and each column contains one piece of the address.
